10.7. Removal, dismantling, check, assembly and installation of supports of brake mechanisms

Components of assembly of the brake mechanism of a forward wheel are presented on the illustration Assembly of the Forward Brake Mechanism.

Assembly of the back brake mechanism

1 — Laying
2 — the Stopper
3 — the pumping Union
4 — the Support
5 — the Boot
6 — the Piston
7 — a piston cover Ring
8 — a piston Cover

9 — Consolidation of the piston
10 — the Directing plug
11 — the Main hairpin
12 — a support Bracket
13 — the External brake shoe
14 — the Internal antivizgovy slip
15 — Antivizgovaya a slip
16 — Holders of brake shoes
17 — the Internal brake shoe

Removal and dismantling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the corresponding wheel and temporarily fix a brake disk by wheel nuts.
  2. Turn out a bolt from a support, remove laying and disconnect a flexible brake hose from a support.

Prepare capacity for collecting brake fluid.

  1. Turn out adjusting bolts of a support (on the back brake mechanism – one bolt) and remove a support from a bracket.
  2. Remove brake shoes with antivizgovy overlays and holders of blocks.
  3. On the back brake mechanism remove, the main hairpin directing the plug with two epiploons and a cover of the main hairpin.
  4. By means of the screw-driver remove a ring of a cover of the brake piston and a cover.
  5. Lay between the piston and a support rags not to damage the piston at its extraction and, having given compressed air to the union of the brake mechanism, push out the piston from the cylinder.

You do not hold fingers between the piston and a support during removal of the piston by means of compressed air.

  1. The screw-driver remove consolidation of the piston:
    • On the forward brake mechanism;
    • Remove two directing pins from a support bracket;
    • Remove the directing plug from the top party of the directing pin;
    • Bring down two boots by means of the screw-driver and the hammer.

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Measure thickness of brake disks and overlays of brake shoes and compare the received values to requirements of Specifications of the Head the Brake system. Examine blocks and disks on existence of mechanical damages. If necessary replace blocks and/or disks.
  2. Measure an axial beating of a disk at distance of 10 mm from its outer edge and compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications of the Head the Brake system. If necessary check an axial side play of the bearing. Adjust a disk beating for what execute the following operations:
    • Turn out two bolts of fastening of a bracket of a support to a rotary fist and remove a bracket;
    • Remove a brake disk and establish it in the situation turned from original on 1/5 turns;
    • Tighten wheel nuts with effort of 103 Nanometers;
    • Measure a disk beating in this situation and write down results of measurement;
    • Repeat the last three operations for the remained three provisions of a disk on a nave;
    • If in any of provisions the beating of a disk meets requirements of Specifications of the Head the Brake system, establish a disk in this situation. Otherwise replace a disk and again measure its axial beating;
    • Establish a bracket of a support and tighten bolts of its fastening with the required effort.

Assembly and installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Assembly and installation are made upside-down. Pay attention to the next moments:
    • Do not allow hit of oil and lubricant on frictional overlays of brake shoes;
    • At installation of boots track that their metal parts reliably adjoined to a support bracket;
    • Delay all connections with the required efforts;
    • After installation fill the brake system with liquid, pump over it and check system for leaks.
