11.5.2. Check and adjustment of angles of installation of forward wheels

Check

Check of geometrical parameters of a suspension bracket is made at the special stand in the conditions of a workshop of car service. Data for check and adjustment of wheels are provided in Specifications of the Head Podvesk and steering.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Measure distances from the earth to the center of a forward bolt of fastening of the lower lever of a forward suspension bracket and to the center of a forward bolt of fastening of the longitudinal lever of a back suspension bracket. Compare the received values to requirements of Specifications of the Head Podvesk and steering.

The Heads Podvesk given in Specifications and steering are given for tires P225/70R16.

  1. Install the car on the measuring stand and check corners of disorder, a vybeg and an inclination of an axis of turn of wheels. If at normal disorder corners of a vybeg and an inclination of an axis of turn of wheels do not conform to requirements of Specifications of the Head Podvesk and steering, check suspension bracket components for existence of damages and wear.
  1. Check convergence of wheels.
  1. Turn against the stop a steering wheel and measure limit angles of rotation of wheels. At unsatisfactory results of check check lengths of the left and right steering drafts.

Adjustment of disorder

After adjustment of disorder check convergence of wheels. At adjustment of a corner of disorder try to expose its average value.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove forward wheels and holders of sensors of speed of ABS.
  2. Give two lower nuts of fastening of a rack of a forward suspension bracket to a rotary fist.
  1. Grease a carving of nuts (1) and (2) motive oils and temporarily establish them.
  1. Adjust disorder pressing or delaying the lower part of a rack in the corresponding direction.
  2. Tighten nuts with effort of 210 Nanometers. Establish forward wheels.
  3. Again check a disorder corner.
  4. Range of adjustment of the established bolts makes from 6' to 30'. If necessary it is possible to pick up adjusting bolts according to the table provided below.

  1. After an otdavaniye of nuts replace a bolt(s) on picked up (if necessary).

Convergence adjustment

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. About protective covers also give lock-nuts of tips of steering drafts.
  1. Turn steering drafts on the quantity of turns necessary for installation of average specification value of convergence.
  1. Make sure that residual lengths of the right and left steering drafts differ no more, than on 1.5 mm.
  1. Tighten lock-nuts of tips of steering drafts with effort of 74 Nanometers. Also establish protective covers.
