2.1. Access, protection

Keys

It is not necessary to leave children unguarded in the car if in it there are keys, especially if the key is inserted into the ignition lock. Children are accustomed to imitate adults and can insert a key into the ignition lock and include ignition or start the engine. It can lead to injuries of children when using, for example, of power windows or to road accident if the car begins to move.

Together with the car two clue and a plate with their code are furnished.

The main key (with a head of black color) approaches all locks of the car and can be used for start of the engine. This key together with its code needs to be provided to the representative of the Lexus company if it is required to make a twirl with the built-in transponder of an immobilizator.

The additional key (with a head of gray color) approaches all locks of the car, except the lock of a ware box, and can be used for start of the engine.

The code of keys should be rewritten on paper and to store it together with a plate in the reliable place inaccessible for strangers (only not in the car!).

For normal work of an immobilizator at start of the engine, do not assume that the charm of the ignition key was over its head, and also that on one brelk there were several keys with transponders. In order to avoid damage of the transponder do not subject to its influence strong mechanical loadings (deformations, blows), high temperatures, moisture and strong Ý/m fields.

Keys with the remote control (RC)

General information

For the Lexus RX-300 car it is possible to use up to four keys with DU. The arrangement and purpose of the DU buttons is presented.

1 — the Button of locking of locks ("LOCK")
2 — the Button of unlocking of locks ("UNLOCK")
3 — the Indicator
4 — the Button of inclusion/switching off of the alarm system ("PANIC")

The alarm system can be turned on, holding the corresponding button during about 1 with, at the same time the ignition key should not be in the provision of "ON". The alarm system is intended for scaring away of malefactors from the car. For switching off of the alarm system repeatedly press the corresponding button.

It is necessary to press the DU buttons slowly and surely. Radius of sure action of DU makes about 1 meter. In the listed below cases replacement of a battery of the DU block can be required:

In order to avoid damage of a key with DU do not subject to its influence strong mechanical loadings (deformations, blows), high temperatures and moisture.

Unlocking and locking of locks of doors, opening of windows of doors and hatch of a roof

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. For locking of locks of all doors, including a back door, take a key from the lock of ignition and press the LOCK button. In confirmation of successful locking indexes of turns have to blink and sound quickly a sound signal. If before locking of locks by means of DU any of doors it was closed leaky, the sound signal will join for 10 seconds.
  2. To be convinced of operation of locks repeatedly press the LOCK button – if locks are locked, indexes of turns have to blink.
  3. For unlocking of the lock of a door of the driver press the UNLOCK button. For unlocking of locks of other doors repeatedly press this button, having waited for 3 seconds after the first pressing. In confirmation of unlocking of locks the sound signal has to join twice quickly. If the switch of the saloon lamp is installed in the provision of "DOOR", along with unlocking of locks for 15 seconds internal lighting joins (it usually does not occur if the ignition key is in the provision of "ON"). If within 30 seconds after unlocking of locks the door is not open, there is an automatic locking of locks of all doors.
  4. For opening of windows of doors and the hatch of a roof hold pressed the UNLOCK button, being outside of the car. Movement of glasses and a cover of the top hatch stops right after a button otpuskaniye.

The loudness of a sound signal and time for opening of a door after unlocking of the lock can be regulated; it is also possible to disconnect a sound signal and the alarm system indexes of turns – address the representative of the Lexus company for obtaining more detailed information on these questions.

Replacement of a battery

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Prepare a new battery.
  1. Turn out the screw of fastening of a cover of a head of a key of DU and remove it in the direction of an arrow.
  1. Take out the DU block from a key head, remove its cover, take an old battery and establish new by a positive pole up.
  1. Collect a key head in the sequence, the return sequence of dismantling. Do not forget to establish a sealing ring. After assembly check serviceability of functioning of DU – when pressing any of its buttons the indicator has to light up.
